BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution; other engineering disciplines will also be considered.
- Over 6 years of experience in designing complex automated systems within a multidisciplinary team.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within engineering teams.
- Proficient in fostering effective communication and team cohesion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
- Capable of maintaining positive relationships during fast-paced, high-pressure project cycles with clients and team members.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed, up to 40%.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Background check is mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in discrete automation, controls engineering, systems integration, and/or robotics.
- Skilled in conducting technical interviews and candidate evaluations.
- Comfortable handling challenging conversations.
- Leads by example and enjoys mentoring others.
- Background in consumer products or medical device industries.
- Proficient in presenting engineering designs, proposals, and reports.
- Familiarity with several of the following environments:
- PLC: Rockwell, Siemens, Codesys (Beckhoff, Bosch)
- HMI: Rockwell, Siemens, Maple Systems, Wonderware, Inductive Automation Ignition
- Industrial Robotics: Fanuc, Epson, Denso, ABB
- Virtual Machines, Linux, Embedded Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resource Management
- Develop and enhance your team's skills to meet resource and service demands.
- Collaborate with recruiting, Program Directors, and Engineering Directors to hire top-tier candidates.
- Allocate team resources effectively across projects and ensure optimal utilization.
- Monitor team performance and address any issues that arise.
Tools & Processes
- Oversee the management of team tools and resources, including software and hardware.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and Engineering Director to establish and uphold standards, processes, tools, templates, and best practices that strengthen the EmTech brand.
- Ensure team compliance with EmTech procedures as outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS) and other relevant guidelines.
Direct Report Management
- Support and develop your direct reports through coaching, mentorship, and training.
- Collaborate with HR to address performance issues through coaching, disciplinary actions, or termination if necessary.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage merit increases, bonuses, and promotions.
